Les cours de l’alliance européenne Circle U. 

In an increasingly globalised world, it is becoming essential to give students the keys to respond to the major challenges facing our societies. Through the open campus of its European alliance Circle U., Université Paris Cité offers several courses on cross-disciplinary topics. In addition to developing skills that complement their academic studies, students have the opportunity to build a European network and improve their foreign language skills.

L’alliance européenne Circle U., rassemble l’Université Paris Cité, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, King’s College London, UCLouvain, l’University of Oslo, l’University of Aarhus, l’University of Belgrade, l’University of Pisa l’University of Vienna.

A large course catalogue to enrich your academic career

The courses developed as part of the European Circle U. alliance are listed throughout the year on its open campus, a shared course catalogue co-created by the nine partner universities. The courses offered can be taken online or include a short mobility period. The open campus therefore allows students to enrich their academic experience by offering them international, multilingual and multicultural exposure to topics related to major contemporary issues (climate, democracy, AI, etc.).

Students at Université Paris Cité  should refer to the Circle U. course application procedure before applying.

Apply before the 15.02: LEAD - Learning Effective Approaches in Development

The course will offer an in-depth examination of successful interventions and policies that have contributed to the well-being of marginalized communities around the world while promoting equitable development and resource distribution.

Apply before the 15.02: How to do European History? Current Approaches and controversies

This course provides students with an exceptional platform for learning and exchange. The course consists of a cycle of six online seminars, each taught by a faculty member from a different institution. The seminars are followed by an in-person five-day “summer school”, during which students present their theses, receive feedback from peers and mentors, visit archives and museums, and meet different practioners of history.

Would you like to use the summer holidays to boost your CV and enjoy a unique international experience? Why not enrol in one of Circle U.’s summer schools? Global health, climate, democracy, multilingualism… there are several summer schools to choose from.

Apply before the 1.03: Plain Language, AI Literacy and Democracy in the EU

Plain language initiatives in government communication have gained momentum, supported by ISO standards and EU/national guidelines. Yet challenges remain: balancing clarity with accuracy, multilingual contexts, and ethical use of AI in transforming citizen–government interaction.

Apply before the 3.03: The Frontiers in Spatial Sciences Circle U.

This lecture series aims to provide in-depth knowledge of various areas of natural hazards, vulnerability and disasters and to strengthen an interdisciplinary perspective. International experts have been invited to give an insight into their research.

Bachelor and master students can apply fore the 3rd of March on the Open campus of Circle U.

Apply before the 8.03: Natural heritage: Global perspectives and local solutions in view of sustainable management

The course explores natural heritage from ecological, cultural, and social perspectives, focusing on sustainable management in the context of climate change. It examines key challenges such as conservation, renewable energy, human–wildlife interactions, and sustainable tourism, using European case studies to highlight interdisciplinary and community-based approaches.

Master students can apply before the 8th of March on the Circle U. open campus!

Apply before the 20.03: Circle U.nited for sustainability

Get together online and in Berlin to learn about, discuss and experience sustainability from diverse academic and practical perspectives!

Bachelor and master students can apply on the Circle U. open campus!

Please note that Université Paris Cité will be able to propose mobility grant only to the students who attended the 4 online sessions!

A network of ambassadors

Circle U. has built a network of ambassadors to promote all of its opportunities. At Paris Cité University, students who have joined this network also support people who want to try the Circle U. experience by answering their questions and sharing their experiences.
