Funded by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the MobiDocSH program supports international mobility projects for early-stage PhD students, aiming to enhance the international dimension of doctoral studies.
What projects?
In 2026, the Faculty of Societies and Humanities is launching a call for projects to enable its PhD students to undertake international mobility during their first or second year of doctoral studies.
Eligible projects must take place outside of France and may include:
- Participation in an international conference,
- Fieldwork or exploratory research,
- Access to archives or specialized resources,
- Any other essential international travel for the advancement of the thesis.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be PhD students:
- enrolled at Université Paris Cité,
- affiliated with a Université Paris Cité laboratory within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences,
- affiliated with a Doctoral School of Université Paris Cité or a Doctoral School partner to Université Paris Cité
- in the 1st or 2nd year of PhD
The project must be supported by the thesis supervisor and the laboratory director.
Selection Criteria
- The mobility must add significant value to the thesis and cannot be carried out in France,
- It must contribute to the development of the PhD student’s international network,
- The project should include consideration of its environmental impact.
Priority will be given to PhD students without dedicated thesis funding.
When to apply?
The application process follows a clear timeline:
- December 17, 2025 – January 30, 2026: Application period,
- Mid-February 2026: Notification of results,
- End of February 2026: Disbursement of funds,
- March 2026 – February 2027: Project implementation.
