PAcIForm: the Programme for Supporting the Internationalisation of Education

Université Paris Cité is committed to strengthening the international dimension of its programmes and supporting academic staff in this process. It was in this context that PAcIForm — the Programme for Supporting the Internationalisation of Education — was launched. The programme is designed to support the university’s academic staff in identifying the appropriate contacts for their projects, developing internationalisation projects, particularly Erasmus+ projects, and preparing applications for international calls for proposals.

Internationalising programmes: a strong university commitment

Université Paris Cité already offers a range of opportunities enabling students to gain international experience, including multilingual programmes and/or programmes co-created with international partners, access to language courses, student exchanges, placements abroad, and short-term or virtual mobility opportunities, particularly through the Circle U. European alliance. These experiences play a key role in developing intercultural skills, which are essential in today’s globalised environment.

In the long term, the university aims to go further by offering every student an international experience. This will involve:

• Adding an international and/or intercultural dimension to existing UPCité programmes, through co-creating or co-teaching courses with partners, working with partners to deliver courses, or revising teaching arrangements, including virtual mobility, translation and short-term mobility.
• Developing new courses or programmes with an international dimension, through:
  1. the creation of qualifications delivered in partnership with international institutions, including double degrees and Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters;
  2. • the introduction of a foreign language as the language of instruction, within the limits imposed by the regulatory framework;
  3. the use of or integration of MOOCs — Massive Open Online Courses.
• Responding to international calls for proposals, such as those issued through the Erasmus+ Programme, the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie” and “Campus France”.

Each year, several projects are carried out through the Erasmus+ Programme, which remains a priority for the university.

Recognition of time invested

To encourage the integration of international and intercultural dimensions into programmes, Université Paris Cité has allocated funding to recognise the time invested in teaching transformation projects.

This scheme applies to projects involving a.3ll or part of a course included in the curriculum of a national qualification awarded by the university and carrying ECTS credits. Proposed changes must be designed to last and be sustainable without relying on external funding.

Until 2029, selected projects may receive temporary recognition for the time invested, at a rate of one hour counting as 1.5 hours of ETD, over one or two academic years.

Requests for recognition of teaching hours must be submitted:
– By 15 March for a course delivered during the first semester of academic year N+1.
– By 15 June for a course delivered during the second semester of academic year N+1.
