Education and disabilities
Université Paris Cité is committed to providing a personalised welcome and support for its students with disabilities throughout their academic studies.
“Any limitation of activity or restriction of participation in social life suffered by a person in his or her environment due to a substantial, lasting or permanent impairment of one or more physical, sensory, mental, cognitive or psychological functions, a multiple disability or a disabling health condition constitutes a disability. »

Facilities for students with disabilities
To benefit from specialized support, technical assistance, study or exams facilities, students with disabilities can contact the facility for assistance. Two facilities, made up of teams in charge of reception and support, are open at the Odéon and Grands Moulins sites.
The facilities are places where students with disabilities or disabling illnesses are welcomed and supported to help them succeed in their studies. The person in charge of accompaniment receives the student in complete confidentiality.
Planning your studies
In consultation with the pedagogical teams, the University Health Service (SSU), and the facility for disabled students defines the accommodations necessary for the smooth running of your studies. Throughout the academic year, students benefit from support and a personalised course of study.
Depending on your situation, you can benefit from :
- Note-taking in class
- Tutoring
- Setting up a reader
- Support in the library
- LSF Interpreters, LPC Encoders
- Adjustment of the length of studies
- Adaptation of teaching aids (Braille, enlarged…)
- Photocopies of courses
The university does not provide assistance with daily living activities, which is covered by the Disability Compensation Service (PCH). This request must be made to the Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées (MDPH).
Examination arrangements
The arrangements for examinations and ongoing tests are taken care of in accordance with the higher education support plan.
Depending on your needs, you can benefit from :
- an additonal time
- the adaptation of subjects (enlarged, Braille, subject on computer file…)
- computer typesetting
- an examination secretary
Procedures
As soon as you register at Université Paris Cité, it is mandatory to make an appointment with one of the welcome and support staff of the facility closest to your place of study (Odéon or Grands Moulins campuses).
