Last June, the University of Toronto and Université Paris Cité launched a joint call for proposals aimed at strengthening their collaboration and supporting research projects across all disciplines. The Graduate Schools of Université Paris Cité played a central role in this initiative, requiring applicants to affiliate their research unit with one of them.
Congratulations to the successful candidates!
The selection committee has chosen two projects from the partner universities:
A Science project:“SAUNA Planets: Survival of Atmospheres on UNearthly Aqua Planets”, led by PhD student Junaid Ramzan Bhat and supervised by Antonio Garcia Muñoz (Université Paris Cité) and Diana Valencia (University of Toronto). This project is affiliated with the Graduate School Earth Planet Universe at Université Paris Cité.
A Social Sciences and Humanities project:“Understanding how variability in children’s cognitive and metacognitive development relates to learning outcomes”, led by PhD student Anna Micaela Ostry (University of Toronto) and supervised by Grégoire Borst (Université Paris Cité) and Kaja Jasińska (University of Toronto). This project is affiliated with the Graduate School Psychological Science at Université Paris Cité.
This call provides funding for up to three years of doctoral scholarship as well as twelve months of travel and living expenses in Paris or Toronto, starting in September 2025.
