The Eiffel scholarship programme launched by France’s Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs is now open for the 2027–2028 academic year. The programme enables international students to benefit from a mobility grant and pursue courses at the master’s and doctorate levels. Submit your applications between October 12th and October 29th (Master) and between October 12th and November 2nd (PhD) !
The Eiffel scholarship programme enables top international applicants to benefit from financial support, allowing them to enrol in Master degree and PhD programmes.

Eligibility criteria
Master’s scholarship:
- Foreign students aged 29 or under (born after March 31st 1997) not stydying in France at the time of their application.
- Must be applying to the Eiffel scholarship for the first time (Eiffel scholarship cannot be combined with another French government scholarship)
! Please note that students currently living in France are no longer eligible for the scholarship !
PhD scholarship:
- Foreign Phd student aged 35 or under (born after 31 March 1991). Students currently studying in France are eligible. Students currently studying abroad are given priority over those already residing in France.
- Must be applying for the Eiffel Scholarship for the first time (it cannot be combined with another French government scholarship). Applicants who have previously received an Eiffel Scholarship at Master’s level may apply again, except for the 36-month doctoral scholarship.
Scholarship duration
Master’s program : the Eiffel scholarship is given for a period of :
- 12 months maximum for enrolment in Master 2
- 24 months maximum for enrolment in Master 1
- 36 months for an engineering degree.
PhD program : the Eiffel scholarship is given for 12months to 36 months (divisible into stays of at least 6 months with justification and following a decision by the commission).
The 36-month scholarship is available only to students entering France for the first time and enrolling in the first year of their PhD. It cannot be awarded to students undertaking a joint PhD. A first-time arrival is defined as a student who is not currently studying in France and is not currently enrolled at a French institution.
Sholarship Amount
Master’s scholarship: monthly allowance of €1 200
PhD scholarship: monthly allowance of €2 000
