[SMARTS-UP Graduate Schools call for applications] Outgoing mobility scholarships for master’s students

Do you want to do an intership or fieldwork abroad during your Master’s degree? The SMARTS-UP Graduate Schools programme at Université Paris Cité aims to promote the internationalisation of Master’s programmes and facilitate the integration of top students into international organisations, creating a pool of excellence for the recruitment of future PhD candidates. Submit your application by November 30, 2026.

Application 2026-2027

In this context, it is proposed to fund outgoing mobility scholarships for 2026-2027, amounting to €1,000 per month, for all Graduate School students wishing to undertake an internship or fieldwork abroad for 1 to 6 months.

The SMARTS-UP Graduate Schools programme also offers travel funding ranging from €250 to €1,000, depending on the destination.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a Master’s student (M1 or M2) at one of Université Paris Cité’s Graduate Schools and enrolled at Université Paris Cité in 2026-2027.
  • Undertake an internship or fieldwork abroad ending no later than August 31, 2027.

Required documents

  • Download and complete the application form
  • A half-page summary of the mobility project
  • Recommendation letter from the Master’s supervisor
  • Support letter from the host organisation
  • Copy of the student card
  • Copy of the ID card
  • Copy of the social insurance card

Applicants will be informed of the decision by email in January 2027.

Please note

  • SMARTS-UP Graduate Schools mobility grants cannot be combined with other mobility grants offered by the University.

  • The French Overseas Departments and Regions and Overseas Collectivities (DROM-COM) are considered part of French territory. Mobility to these regions is therefore not eligible for SMARTS-UP Graduate Schools mobility grants, nor are internships or fieldwork conducted in mainland France.

  • Remote working periods are not taken into account when calculating the amount of the SMARTS-UP Graduate Schools mobility grant.
