The Circle U. European Alliance’s Democracy Knowledge hub invites undergraduate and graduate students to present their work at a round-table discussion on the influence of social networks on election campaigns.

Objectives
More and more messages from politicians are appearing on social media. The electoral campaigns are to a large extent also being held on social media, which represents a considerable budget.This event provides a broader perspective on this trend.
Undergraduate or graduate students who are carrying out or have carried out research related to this topic, whatever their field, are invited to present it in 180 seconds. Specialists from UCLouvain and other Circle U.universities, will also participate by linking the student presentations with broader tendencies as well a to give suggestions to those working on this subject.
Target Audiences
Bachelor’s and Master’s students from all Circle U. universities who would like to submit work on the topic “Social networks: Are social media a step-up or an obstacle for democracy ?”
Registration
Students who would like to contribute with a presentation, please send your proposal by 19 April 2024 via this form. Those who cannot attend in persn at Louvain-la-Neuve for the event can send a 180 seconds video. The presentation can be in English or in French (with PowerPoint in English).
A prize will be awarded for the best presentation in terms of content as well as a prize for the most original presentation. All presenters will receive a certificate for their participation.
