In June 2026, Université Paris Cité welcomed two Learning Expeditions from Norway and New Zealand, organized by the French embassies abroad. These visits aim to foster dialogue between higher education systems and strengthen international cooperation.

A First Meeting with New Zealand Universities

On June 1, 2026, Université Paris Cité marked a historic milestone by hosting, for the first time in France, a delegation of New Zealand university representatives. The delegation was composed primarily of Vice Presidents for Research from New Zealand universities.

This meeting provided an opportunity to present Université Paris Cité and the specific features of the French healthcare system, identified as a key area of cooperation between the two countries. Medical research is a vital pillar of this alliance, as health fields account for nearly 30% of co-authored scientific publications between France and New Zealand.

This visit is fully aligned with the university’s international engagement strategy. Committed to developing long-term partnerships across all continents, Université Paris Cité will take a further step in strengthening its presence in Oceania by visiting Australia and New Zealand for the first time at the end of 2026.

Strategic Discussions with Norwegian Universities

On June 9, 2026, Université Paris Cité welcomed a delegation of representatives from Norwegian universities. The university already maintains strong ties with Norway, particularly with the University of Oslo, its partner within the European University Alliance Circle U.

Discussions focused on several strategic research-related topics, including the multidisciplinary approach implemented at Université Paris Cité through its interdisciplinary institutes, funding mechanisms for research projects such as the IdEx programme, and support structures for developing European projects, notably through the Seal of Excellence programme for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships.

The meeting was attended by Stanislas de Montlebert, Director of Partnerships, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Marko Tocilovac, Head of the Strategic Projects Department.
