From 6 to 17 July 2026, the Faculty of Medicine at Université Paris Cité will welcome more than 70 international students from 20 different countries to Paris for its first international summer schools. Fully in line with the Choose France initiative, this project embodies the country’s ambition to become a leading destination for healthcare, at the heart of a unique ecosystem combining university hospital excellence, cutting-edge research, artificial intelligence, digital health and pedagogical innovation.

Two immersive programs at the forefront of modern medicine

Over the course of two weeks, participants will engage directly with experts driving major transformations in healthcare. Fully taught in English, these summer schools offer two complementary programmes of excellence:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation in Medicine (with the PR[A]IRIE and DigiHealth institutes): a total immersion into the applications of AI and digital technologies in healthcare (large language models, digital twins, health data, telemedicine, connected devices, ethics and regulation). A cutting-edge programme perfectly aligned with the innovation momentum driven by the France 2030 national investment plan.
  • Hands-on Training in Clinical Medicine and Emergencies(with the iLumens platform): an immersive, practical training programme focusing on medical simulation and emergency management. Through complex scenarios, participants will develop their decision-making skills in acute situations and their ability to work as part of a team.

By combining cutting-edge theory with practical workshops, these summer schools prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals to drive tomorrow’s major medical transformations.

Unprecedented access to a world-class healthcare ecosystem competing on the global stage

Led by the Faculty of Medicine, these summer schools offer a unique opportunity in France to discover an exceptional healthcare ecosystem, combining the clinical excellence of the AP-HP hospitals, the cutting-edge research of the PR[A]IRIE and DigiHealth institutes, and the simulation expertise of the iLumens platform. For the first time, the Faculty brings together the key hallmarks of French healthcare excellence: a renowned university hospital model, rigorous clinical training and innovative, practice-based teaching. This unique immersion aims to establish Paris as a leading benchmark for conceiving, learning and building the medicine of tomorrow, whilst sustainably strengthening academic partnerships and showcasing French investment in innovation.

Echoing the Choose France initiative, these summer schools open up campuses to international talents in order to strengthen the country’s scientific influence and attractiveness in highly strategic fields. Furthermore, welcoming these talents serves as a crucial lever for scientific diplomacy and soft power. Through this inaugural edition, Université Paris Cité affirms its commitment to fostering a sustainable, international alumni community, making the capital a hub for exchange and cooperation for future generations of healthcare professionals.

An international ambition that embodies Université Paris Cité’s global outreach policy

The launch of these summer schools is fully in line with Université Paris Cité’s policy of openness, which places the internationalisation of teaching and campuses at the heart of its strategy. Beyond its academic offerings — which grant access to a wide range of English-taught programs and international joint degrees — UPCité stands out for the quality of its support services for international students, earning it the official “Bienvenue en France” label. By putting interdisciplinarity and pedagogical innovation at the heart of their approach, these summer schools demonstrate Université Paris Cité’s ability to train students capable of addressing major societal challenges.
