Come join us for a day of discussions about the connections between genomics, medical imaging, and ethics. This event is hosted by the Espace Éthique Île-de-France in partnership with the Société Française de Radiologie and the Graduate School of Psychological Science at Université Paris Cité.
This day will explore the ethical connections between genomics and medical imaging, which have become indispensable in medicine due to advancements in artificial intelligence. They are pivotal in disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Despite their significance, these fields still harbor uncertainties and pose ethical dilemmas for doctors, be they geneticists or radiologists. For instance, which examination requests are ethically appropriate? How do we balance the need to identify risks with some individuals’ wish not to be informed? How can we minimise unexpected findings, and what actions should be taken if they arise? The afternoon session will delve into addressing these inquiries.
